FANS VS FAVES

Welcome to Bronte Court, a picturesque cul-de-sac in the prestigious Melbourne Bayside suburb of Hampton and home of The Block 2021, where five typical Aussie houses will be transformed into five luxury family homes. This year, The Block favourites Ronnie and Georgia from the 2017 Elsternwick series and Mitch and Mark from the 2019 Oslo series face off against newbie fans Tanya and Vito, Josh and Luke and Kirsty and Jesse.  For the first time in the show’s history, the contestants will be building basements AND working without any house plans! Needless to say, this is going to be a very interesting season.

As proud lighting suppliers once again, we’re following the five teams as they consult with our lighting designers and dazzle us with their lighting choices.

Week 11 -Study, Garage & Wine Cellar

This was a tough week, finishing up all the indoor spaces but the teams managed to pull it off in style. We’re in love with Ronnie and Georgia’s garage featuring a Grafico mural of the Le Mans where Ford beat Ferrari and illuminated perfectly by our Yuma flush mounts. They also created a stylish and functional bedroom-study with our Artisan wall lights and Titan downlights. Impressing us equally were Kirsty and Jesse’s study with our Reno spotlights which can be adjusted to direct light where it’s needed and our Viba wall sconces creating a moody ambience in Josh and Luke’s wine cellar. Well done Blockheads!

week-10

Week 10 -Backyard

Paradise is often found in one’s own backyard- in this case five backyards! The teams created luxurious family-friendly spaces, setting the bar high for summer entertaining. Among our favourite looks were Mitch & Mark’s Palm Springs-inspired space with our Southampton lights elevating the rear façade; Josh and Luke’s backyard oasis featuring a massive fire pit and our beautiful festoon lights; and Kirsty and Jesse’s stunning outdoor pavilion complete with skylights, pizza oven and our Tahitian ceiling fan as well as the first-on-The Block chook house with our stylish Norwest wall sconces!

week-9

Week 9 -Hallway & Powder Room

There's so much to love in this week's reveal! Our opulent Lucent alabaster pendants light up Ronnie and Georgia’s hallway filled with beautiful artworks from renowned artists; a bold cluster of our contemporary Zinc pendants elevates Tanya’s own painting; our Adele vintage pendant creates a warm welcome in Kirsty and Jesse’s entrance while our Parker vanity wall light in brass adds a touch of glamour to their bathroom vanity. Needless to say, it was perfect styling across all the houses!

week-8

Week 8 -Living & Dining

The Blockheads have outdone themselves, taking luxurious living to new heights with the living and dining spaces they delivered this week. Ronnie and Georgia chose our Luella alabaster pendant to make a statement in their sophisticated dining space; Tanya and Vito floored the judges with their retro sunken lounge framed by a beautiful cluster of our mid-century style Malmo pendants; and Mitch and Mark wowed everyone with their soaring cathedral ceiling, featuring our Titan downlights and Tahitian fans.

week-7

Week 7 -Kitchen

From contemporary Hamptons to architecturally designed spaces, the kitchens revealed last night were some of the most beautiful The Block has ever seen. The pendant lights took centre stage in each team’s heart of the home: our stunning Luella alabaster pendant in Kirsty and Jesse’s kitchen with the brass details perfectly matching the brass details on the cabinetry; our sculptural Pheonix pendants accentuating the spaciousness of Luke and Josh’s kitchen; and the Masson For Light custom-made Roman pendant lending the minimalist look to Tanya and Vito’s kitchen (here’s a secret, you can get the same look with our MFL By Masson Fleming pendant).

week-6

Week 6 -Guest & Kids' Bedroom

For bedroom week, the teams created spaces that were light, bright, airy and beautiful – just the way we like it! Among our favourites is Kirsty and Jesse’s Hampton’s style bedroom for a little girl where they used a delightful combination of our Ascot brass wall bracket in the reading nook, Firma table lamps for the bedside and our essential but stylish Viceroy ceiling fan. Tania and Vito created an equally stunning kids’ bedroom with cute bunkbeds and our playful Disk wall lights. Taking top prize was Ronnie and Georgia with their winning colour palette and soaring ceiling accentuated by our sophisticated Titan downlights.

week-5

Week 5 - Master Ensuite

The teams had a lot in common this week: refined tile choices, brass accents, practicality and most importantly, they all nailed the styling on the vanity! Ronnie and Georgia used our Parker wall lights to up the luxe factor on their vanity; Josh and Luke went with our strip lighting to create a lavish retreat; and Kirsty and Jesse used a combination of strategically placed downlights to perfectly illuminate their fresh and glamorous space.

week-4

Week 4 - Basement

For the first time in The Block history, the teams went underground to fit out their basements. Ronnie and Georgia floored the judges with their contemporary cinematic experience complete with a starry ceiling, our stylish Smith lamps and curtain-washing effects with downlights while Tanya and Vito brought in a new level of luxury in their home theatre with our blue LED strip lighting. Mitch and Mark went with an out-of-the-box idea creating a day-spa style steam room with our Aksel pendants and City downlights. Darren thought their lighting was perfect as it brought in the feeling of light and bright, airy and fresh even thought there was no access to natural light. Fabulous styling teams!

week-3

Week 3 - Main Bedroom

THIS is how master bedrooms are mastered! The teams used a delightful combination of our stylish bedside lamps and pendants, subtle bedhead lights and architectural downlights to bring understated elegance and glamour to their respective spaces. Mitch and Mark went a step further by future-proofing their bedrooms with smart switches which would give the new owners total convenient control over their lighting.

week-2

Week 2 - Main Bathroom

This week, the teams show us that good things come in pairs! Tanya and Vito brought in drama with a pair of our black Artisan mix and match wall lights, Kirsty and Jesse went with the brass finish for a touch of glamour while Mitch and Mark selected our surface mounted Gypsum downlights for focused task lighting. We think all the teams deserve 10/10 for their luxurious and sophisticated styling!

Week 1 - Guest Bedroom

It’s bedroom week on The Block and there’s so much to love! Starting with stylish wall lights and pendants which replace bedside lamps, the statement ceiling fan and architectural downlights cleverly placed on a sloped roof. With stunning spaces like these, who wouldn’t want to be a guest here?
